I spent some time a while back in the marketplace in Tlacolula, Oaxaca, which is the center of a collection of agricultural villages of Zapotec Indians and about 20 miles from the capital of the state of Oaxaca.
Huge numbers of Oaxacan immigrants in Los Angeles are from Tlacolula or surrounding towns.
The light was nice that day, I thought, so I kept trying to find it.
